The Blue Line, Inc. is a non-profit corporation informing Boulder residents about political, controversial and provocative city and community issues. We’re calling it “The Blue Line” in honor of the 1959, citizen-led referendum that prevented development on Boulder’s mountain backdrop. We aim to engage people who
- have a reverence and love for Open Space and a desire to protect it
- recognize the importance of history and historic landmarks
- value neighborhoods and neighborhood schools
- have lived here all their lives and who have just arrived
- recognize the bicycle as a form of recreation AND transportation
- are users of eco passes and alternative transportation modes
- value the sense of place and that which defines it
- have a desire to plan for the seventh generation
- are environmentally respectful hikers, runners and climbers
- value community of all ages
- are responsible dog guardians
- put the greater good ahead of their own self-interests
- want to live in a vibrant town not a crowded city
- recognize diversity as a fundamental component of vibrancy
