If you are intimidated by the prospect of addressing City Council in its chambers, at a microphone, several feet below the dais, with all of your remarks videotaped and broadcast, here’s a chance to have a chat with at least some council and staff members in a much more relaxed atmosphere. The City of Boulder is hosting a series of informal get-togethers, called Boulder Matters, aimed at giving residents a chance to learn about current civic topics. I attended the first affair with my kids, who got to paint pumpkins, eat cookies and drink hot chocolate. It may not have been typical of future events, but that one was attended by the Mayor, the City Manager, the Director of Community Planning, and several staff members.
The next Boulder Matters is Sunday, 10/24, at Chautauqua. Details are available here and at the city’s website.
