Around 2:00 pm our crew was assigned to triage some structures. We traveled down a narrow long windy road with power lines crossing it. We did not know if the lines were hot or not. All these are watch out signs. It was not the best place to be. Of course that is not unusual on a fire. We arrived on scene. The place had just been painted by the bombers with the red retardant hung off the plants and on the buildings and its smell was in the air. We were briefed on the situation and our objective.
