About the author:
Fred Ecks first moved to Boulder in 1992, and fell in love with the outdoor life. He's an avid cyclist, ultramarathon trail runner, backpacker, sailor, leafpeeper and wildlife enthusiast. When he's not doing any of those things, he can often be found working as a bicycle mechanic while planning his next big adventure. He's lived in Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Amsterdam, and San Francisco, but his home and heart always remain in Boulder.
